Cisco 642-503

The Cisco 642-503 Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (SNRS) exam from Cisco certification replaces the Cisco 642-502 Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (SNRS) exam and is one of five core exams needed for the Cisco Certified Security Professional certification (CCSP).  This exam is similar to the 642-502 exam and measures the students understanding and knowledge to secure networks using Cisco routers and switches.  This includes the implementation of Layer 2 security, configuring Cisco IOS Firewall features to meet security requirements, configuring Cisco IOS-based IPS to identify and mitigate threats to network resources, configuring basic IPSec VPNs to secure site-to-site and remote access to network resources, and configuring authentication, authorization and accounting to provide basic secure access control for networks.  New to this exam is Implement Network Foundation Protection using the CLI.

Cisco advises that candidates have a valid CCNA certification as a prerequisite for taking the Cisco 642-503 Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches (SNRS) exam.
