Cisco CCDA

Description:

Established in 2001 the Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) certification from Cisco Certification that is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise environment with the design of routed and switched network infrastructures involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services for businesses and organizations, or those who seek employment in those environments, and want to obtain the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification.  The purpose of the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification is to certify that the student has indeed mastered the knowledge required to design a routed and switched network infrastructures involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services for businesses and organizations.  There are certain prerequisites that have to be satisfied before you will be allowed to sit for examinations that pertain to the CCDA certification.  The Cisco Certified Design Associate certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCNA certification.

 

 

Required Exams:

To be awarded the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification, the Cisco Certified Design Associate student must successfully pass one exam namely; the Cisco 640-861 DESGN (CCDA) exam.  This particular exam has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5 and is thus only a moderately difficult exam.  This exam is available in English only.  You may sit for this examination at any Prometric or Pearson VUE examination administration center.

 

 

Recertification:

Recertification is a reality if one is to keep up with all the new technology that keeps on being introduced into the enterprise, the workplace and everyday life.  To this end it is thus not surprising that a successful Cisco Certified Design Associate student will hold the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification for three years only.  After these three years the Cisco Certified Design Associate student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Design Associate certification by retaking and passing the Cisco DESGN 640-861 (CCDA) exam OR taking and passing the CCNA level exams written exam OR Any of the exams that bear the 642 prefix.
