Citrix CCIA
As with all the Citrix Certifications the Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) for Presentation Server 4 it is an excellent credential. There is a definite continuation in terms of emphasizing aspects like the expansion of skills and knowledge. The CCIA certification ensures that a CCIA IT professional has the skills needed to lead a company through the analysis and design required to integrate multiple Citrix products into an IT environment by providing the candidate with the tools and knowledge needed to administer, build, test, rollout and support of multiple Citrix products. Special emphasis is placed on best practices recommended by Citrix for analysis, design, and build/test of Citrix technologies. The main incentive for candidates to pursue the CCIA designation is that candidates acquire the knowledge, expertise, recognition and credibility required for successful Citrix deployments. Another benefit is that this same knowledge and expertise, when applied to small-to-large implementations, reduces costs, increases implementation success rates and speeds up implementation time.
CCIA Certification: Requirements
At present, the current Citrix Certification is backed by Citrix Education offering the following CCIA track:
- Citrix Certified Integration Architect for Citrix Presentation Server 4
The Citrix Certified Integration Architect for Citrix MetaFrame XP Presentation Server CCIA track is no longer attainable; however it still remains a valid certification. You can refer to Certification Manager for information on the requirements of this track, or your certification status.
CCIA for Presentation Server 4
The CCIA Citric certification can be regarded as the flagship as it is the most extensive and recognized certification and is updated and improved to support the latest Citrix products that are on the market. It is quite a stern test and very challenging in terms of testing the candidates regarding their learning, application and demonstration of the advanced skills required to integrate multiple Citrix products into a single optimally configured environment, as well as sustain this environment using comprehensive troubleshooting and maintenance techniques. This certification is intended for those responsible for administering large, complex, or mission critical environments.
To obtain the CCIA Certification Requirements there are several steps that should be taken towards full certified status. The following is a list of the requirements for attaining the CCIA for Citrix Presentation Server 4 certification.
Take the designated online Citrix course as well as pass the assessment given at the end of the course. This particular online course is known as CTX-1455CW Citrix Common Management Platform 4.5: Administration or alternatively you can take the CTX-1455AW Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Common Management Platform Administration online Citrix course.
Pass the 1Y0-259 Citrix Presentation Server 4.5: Administration examination OR
pass the 1Y0-256 Citrix Presentation Server 4.0: Administration AND the 1Y0-327 Citrix Password Manager 4.5 Administration examinations.
Alternatively you can also pass the 1Y0-326 Citrix Password Manager 4.0: Administration AND the 1Y0-308 Citrix Access Gateway 4.5 Advanced Edition: Administration examinations OR
1Y0-306 Citrix Access Gateway 4.2 with Advanced Access Control: Administration examination.
Pass the following exams.
- 1Y0-456 Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Build/Test
- 1Y0-613 Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Analysis
- 1Y0-614 Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Design
Accept the CCIA certification agreement.
Recommended Citrix Certification training: There are currently several free online Citrix bootcamps, Citrix study guides and even Citrix video study guides available.
There are also online Citrix certification courses and Citrix discussion forums in addition to the official Citrix training that can be found on the official Citrix Web site, which will help a great deal in preparing oneself for the Citrix exams.
Certification Logos
If you want to get hold of your hard-earned logos you can do so by accessing your Candidate Record in Certification Manager and click Get Logos in the left-hand column. Then you should select the appropriate logo and file format, and then follow the download instructions.
There are currently no skills update paths offered by Citrix, but the possibility is not completely ruled out for the future. As technology develops it will become an integral part of Information Technology.
