The Cisco CCIP certification unequivocally certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional has mastered the knowledge needed to handle networking technologies in the service provider arena. These networking technologies include IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS. The successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certified student will have official recognition that he/she has knowledge of the networking technologies in the service provider arena including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and MPLS. Permission to register for the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) certification is subject to the candidate having successfully acquired the Cisco CCNA certification.
Required Exams:
To be awarded the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification, the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional student must successfully pass a few exams namely; the Cisco 642-901 Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) AND Cisco 642-892 composite, Cisco 642-642 Implementing Cisco Quality of Service (QOS), Cisco 642-661 Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers (BGP) and Cisco 642-611 Implementing Cisco MPLS (MPLS) OR alternatively you can do Cisco 642-901 Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) AND Cisco 642-891 composite, Cisco 642-642 Implementing Cisco Quality of Service (QOS) and Cisco 642-691 BGP+MPLS which is a combo of BGP+MPLS.
Recertification:
A successful Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional student will hold the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification for three years only, after which the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional certification by retaking and passing the Cisco 642-691 BGP+MPLS or passing both Cisco 642-661 BGP and the Cisco 642-611 MPLS exams or taking and passing the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) written exam especially the one on Routing and Switching.
