Cisco CCNP
Description:
The Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification from Cisco Certification was established in 2001 and is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or those who want to find employment in those environments, and necessarily must obtain the Cisco Content Network Professional certification to further their careers.
The Cisco Certified Network Professional certification certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Network Professional has learnt the knowledge need to install, configure, and cure any glitches in the local area network and wide area network for large enterprise organizations consisting of networks ranging from an estimated 100 until a maximum of over 500 nodes. The successful Cisco Certified Network Professional certified student will have knowledge of the quality of service (QoS), converged networks, security, virtual private networks (VPN) and extensive broadband technology coverage.
The Cisco Certified Network Professional certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCNP certification.
Required Exams:
To be awarded the Cisco Certified Network Professional certification, the Cisco Certified Network Professional student must successfully pass either a group of three or four exam.
These groups are as follows:
GROUP 1:
The 642-901 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) exams
The 642-812 BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks) exams
The 642-825 ISCW (Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks) exams
The 642-845 ONT (Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks) exams
OR
GROUP 2:
The 642-892 Composite Exam which comprises of the Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) and the Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN) exams.
The 642-825 ISCW (Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks) exams
The 642-845 ONT (Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks) exams

Recertification:
A successful Cisco Content Network Professional student will hold the Cisco Certified Network Professional certification for three years only, after which the Cisco Certified Network Professional student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Network Professional certification by retaking and passing the Cisco 642-801 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) and the Cisco 642-811 BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks) exams OR the Cisco 642-891 Composite exam, which consists of BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) and BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switching Networks), OR just pass the CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) written exam from or later than the 1st October 2004.
