Description:
The Cisco vendor has a Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification that was established in 2001. This certification is aimed primarily at students who are currently employed or those who want to find employment in the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCSP), and want to obtain the Cisco Content Security Professional certification.
The Cisco Certified Security Professional certification certifies that a successful Cisco Certified Security Professional has learnt the knowledge need to emphasize secure VPN management, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM), PIX firewall, Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Cisco Security Agent (CSA), and techniques to combine these technologies in a single, integrated network security solution. The Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification successful candidate exhibits a higher level of knowledge of securing and managing network infrastructures to protect productivity and reduce costs. A main concern of the CCSP certification, which should be heavily, emphasized Cisco Training Guides.
The Cisco Certified Network Professional certification is only available to students who have success fully acquired the Cisco CCNP certification.
Required Exams:

Recertification:
CCSP certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, either pass the 642-541 CSI exam, or pass a CCIE written exam after October 1, 2004. Valid CCNA certification is required for permission to take the Cisco Certified Security Professional.
