The successful Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) certified student will thus have knowledge of implementing, operating, configuring, and troubleshooting a converged IP network. Special emphasis is placed on Cisco Systems CallManager, IP phones, gateways, gatekeepers, voice applications, quality of service (QoS), and utilities on Cisco routers and Cisco Catalyst switches. The major prerequisite that you need to satisfy before you will be allowed to take on the Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) certification is the full acquisition of the Cisco CCNA certification.
Required Exams:
To be awarded the CCVP certification will definitely require a lot of hard work on your part. First and foremost, you need to pass five examinations. However, there is more than one way of acquiring CCVP certification insofar as the combinations of examinations are concerned.
Compulsory: the 642-642 QOS (Quality of Service) exam.
Compulsory: the 642-432 CVOICE (Cisco Voice over IP) and Voice over IP Fundamentals (CVF) exam.
Compulsory: one of either the 642-426 TUC (Troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communications Systems) exam OR the 642-425 IPTT (IP Telephone Troubleshooting) exam
Compulsory: one of either the 642-444 CIPT 4.1 (Cisco IP Telephony Part 1 [CIPT1 4.1] AND Cisco IP Telephony Part 2 [CIPT2 4.1]) OR the 642-445 CIPT 5.0 (Cisco IP Telephony Part 1 [CIPT1 5.0] AND Cisco IP Telephony Part 2 [CIPT2 5.0])
Compulsory: the 642-453 GWGK (Implementing Cisco Voice Gateways and Gatekeepers) exam
Recertification:
A successful CCVP student will hold the Cisco Certified Voice Professional certification for three years only, after which the CCVP student must re-validate their Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) certification by taking and passing the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert written exam.
