Description:

The IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator (CASA) certification from IBM Certification was established in 2001.  This IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise network environments.  This certification is also for those who want to find employment in those environments and those who want to obtain the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator (CASA) certification.

 

The IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification certifies that a successful IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator has learnt the knowledge needed to:-

·       Perform most of the tasks involved in the role with limited assistance from peers

·       Product documentation and vendor support services even in complex situations.

 

The successful IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certified student will have knowledge of the complexities of infrastructure design and maintenance, architecture and security issues, and advanced troubleshooting.  These are all fields in the Enterprise network environments.

 

The IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification is available to students who have the knowledge and experience required to successfully acquired the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification.

 

 

Required Exams:

To be awarded the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification, the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator student must successfully pass one exam namely:-

·       The IBM 000-341 WebSphere Application Server V5.0, Multiplatform Administration exam.

 

This exam has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5.  It is thus only a moderately difficult exam.  This exam is available in English only.

 

 

Recertification:

A successful IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator student will hold the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification for two years.  Thereafter the IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator student must re-validate their IBM Certified Advanced System Administrator certification.  This can be done by retaking and passing the current CASA exam.
