The IBM Certified Solution Designer certification from IBM Certification was established in 2001. The candidate who passes the IBM Certified Solution Designer certification will certify that a successful IBM Certified Solution Designer has learnt the knowledge needed to:-
· Identifying the business and technical requirements of a WebSphere MQ
· Message Broker V5 or Business Intelligence opportunity
· Consult
· Architect and manage WebSphere MQ, Message Broker V5, or Business Intelligence solutions
The successful IBM Certified Solution Designer certified student will have extensive product knowledge of who understands the concepts of asynchronous messaging and can plan and architect software solutions involving WebSphere MQ, Message Broker V5, or Business Intelligence, design applications based on WebSphere MQ, Message Broker V5, or Business Intelligence, and demonstrate knowledge and experience in a wide variety of WebSphere MQ, Message Broker V5, or Business Intelligence platforms, versions, releases, and formats.
These are all fields in the solution development environments. The IBM Certified Solution Designer certification is available to students who have the knowledge and experience required to successfully acquire the IBM Certified Solution Designer certification.
Required Exams:
To be awarded the IBM Certified Solution Designer certification, the IBM Certified Solution Designer student must successfully pass one or two exams namely; the IBM 000-996 IBM WebSphere MQ V6.0, Solution Design exam, or the IBM 000-700 DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals and 000-705 Business Intelligence Solutions V8.1 exams, or the IBM 000-299 IBM WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker V5, Solution Design and 000-294 IBM WebSphere MQ V5.3 System Administration or 000-296 IBM WebSphere MQ V5.3 Solution Design exams.
To be awarded the IBM Certified Solution Designer certification, the IBM Certified Solution Designer student must successfully pass one or two exams. These exams are:-
· The IBM 310-025 CED (Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform) exam
· The IBM Test 486 CED (Object-Oriented Analysis and Design with UML) exam
· The IBM Test 484 CED (Enterprise Connectivity with J2EE V1.3) exam
· The IBM Test 287 CED (Enterprise Application Development with IBM WebSphere Studio, V5.0) exam
These exams have a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5. These exams are thus moderately difficult. The language mediums available for these exams are English.
Recertification:
A successful IBM Certified Solution Designer student will hold the IBM Certified Solution Designer certification for two years. Thereafter the IBM Certified Solution Designer student must re-validate their IBM Certified Solution Designer certification. This can be done by retaking and passing the current IBM Certified Solution Designer exams.
