Description:
The IBM Certified Specialist (CS) certification from IBM Certification was established in 2001. This IBM Certified Specialist certification is aimed at students who are currently employed in the Enterprise Network and IBM reseller environments. This certification is also for students who aspire to find employment in this environment and wants to obtain the IBM Certified Specialist certification.
The student who passes the IBM Certified System Administrator certification will certify that a successful IBM Certified System Administrator has learnt the knowledge needed to:-
· Plan
· Design
· Install and maintain System x, iSeries, p5 and pSeries, xSeries, or zSeries; or design and implement IBM storage networking solutions or sell these solutions.
The successful IBM Certified Specialist certified student will have in-depth knowledge of the basic to intermediate tasks required in day-to-day database, iSeries, p5 and pSeries, xSeries, or zSeries administration.

To be awarded with credit towards the IBM Certified Specialist certification, the IBM Certified Specialist student must successfully pass one exam namely the:-
IBM 000-512 DB2 UDB V7.1 Fundamentals exam, or the IBM 000-070 xSeries Sales
IBM 000-071 IBM xSeries Technical Principles V6 exam, or the IBM 000-351 i5 iSeries Single System Administrator V5R3 exam, or the IBM 000-356 iSeries System Command Operations V5R2 exam, or the IBM 000-859 iSeries Solution Sales exam, or the IBM 000-866 i5 iSeries Technical Solutions Designer V5R3 exam, or the IBM 000-867 i5 iSeries Technical Solutions Implementer V5R3 exam, or the IBM 000-222 p5 and pSeries Administration and Support AIX 5L V5.3 exam, or the IBM 000-238 p5 and pSeries Technical Sales Support exam, or the IBM 000-239 p5 Sales Solutions exam, or the IBM 000-190 AIX Basic Operations V5 exam, or the IBM 000-324 IBM zSeries Technical V1 exam, or the IBM 000-424 IBM zSeries Sales V1 exam, or the IBM 000-385 High End Tape Solutions, V3 exam, or the IBM 000-740 Storage Networking Solutions, V1 exam, or the IBM 000-750 Retail Store Solution Sales exam, or the IBM 000-751 Retail Store Technical Solutions exam.
The successful IBM Certified System Administrator student that passes the 000-252 WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.0, Core Administration exam will be awarded with credit towards the IBM Certified System Administrator certification.
Recertification:
A successful IBM Certified Specialist student will only hold the IBM Certified Specialist certification only for two years. Thereafter the IBM Certified Specialist student must re-validate their IBM Certified Specialist certification. This can be done by retaking and passing the current CS exams.
