Description:
The IBM Certified Database Associate (DBA) certification from IBM Certification was established in 2001. This IBM Certified Database Associate (DBA) certification is intended for candidates who are currently employed in the Enterprise Network environments. This IBM Certified Database Associate certification is also for candidates who aspire to find employment in those environments and want to obtain the IBM Certified Database Associate (DBA) certification.
The Database Associate certification certifies that a successful Database Associate has learnt the knowledge needed to concepts of DB2 Universal Database V8 through either hands on experience or formal and informal education.
The successful Database Associate certified student will have knowledge of:-
· The basic SQL (Structured Query Language)
· Understanding how DB2 Universal Database V8.1 is packaged and installed
· Understanding how to create databases and database objects and
· Have a basic knowledge of database security and transaction isolation.
These are all fields in the Enterprise Network environments. The Database Associate certification is only available to candidates who have success fully 6 to 12 month’s experience. The student should have knowledge of concepts of DB2 Universal Database V8 through either hands on experience or formal and informal education.
Required Exams:
In order for the Database Associate candidate to be awarded with credit towards the Database Associate certification, one exam needs to be passed. This exam is the IBM Test 700 DBA (DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals) exam.
The IBM Test 700 DBA (DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals) exam has a difficulty rating of about 3 out of 5. This IBM Test 700 DBA (DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals) exam is thus only a moderately difficult exam. The language medium for the IBM Test 700 DBA (DB2 UDB V8.1 Family Fundamentals) exam is English.
Recertification:
The successful IBM Certified Database Associate student will hold the IBM Certified Database Associate certification indefinitely.
